Mountaineer Brand-Springtime Fun

Springtime Fun

Spring is just a couple days away, and we couldn’t be more anxious for it. When the world gets its brightness back, there seems to be a little extra pep in the step. Who else is ready for green grass, blossoming flowers, blue skies filled with fluffy white clouds and warmer weather? (You got warm and fuzzy just reading that, didn’t you?)

If you’re as excited as we are about spring, you’re probably already thinking of ways to spend some time outdoors. Since you’ve probably already lost so much time being cooped up inside all winter long, we’ve put together a list of things to get you a headstart.

5 Ways to Enjoy the Outdoors this Spring

  1. Plant Some Veggies

It’s a great time of year to start a vegetable garden, and there’s nothing quite like picking and enjoying a product grown from your own love and care. Some seeds that can be planted outdoors immediately are squash, spinach, peas, and onions. Yum!

  1. Start a Walking or Jogging Routine

You may already be doing this, and if you are, kudos to you! BUT, are you doing this routine outside? If not, now is a great time to take advantage of warmer weather before it gets TOO warm. Why not enjoy nature while exercising? Breathing in fresh air will do your body even more good!

  1. Watch a Rain Storm

This is at the top of my to-do list when spring rolls around. I rock in the chair on my porch and soak it all in- the sounds, the smells, the idea of new life blossoming all around me. It’s such a simple, yet satisfying springtime favorite of mine.

  1. Hike Trails

Go to a place you’ve never been and hike some trails. The new location makes for a fun and exciting experience, plus you’re getting some good exercise in the process. This is good for both mind and body!

  1. Check Out the Local Farmer’s Market

Two words- LOCAL. HONEY. A Farmer’s Market near you will be sure to have it, and it’s an essential in my household. When we start taking a tablespoon of that magic stuff daily, our allergy symptoms lessen SO MUCH. So, if you suffer from springtime allergies this is something you should try! Also be sure to check out all of the other locally grown goodness while you’re there.

Since you’ll be enjoying your time outdoors, make sure you’re keeping yourself and your family protected! Lather up with sunscreen, wear eye protection and hats, and use insect repellent (we can help you there!). If you’re looking for an all-natural, DEET free option, check out our Granny Vicars’ Insect Repellent. It’s safe for the whole family AND it works like a charm!

Whatever you decide to do this spring, we hope that you enjoy each moment as much as we will. We fully encourage you to take advantage of the sheer beauty nature is sure to provide.
