October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and this is something that we hold very near and dear to our hearts here at Mountaineer Brand.
In 2009, owner and CEO, Eric, lost his wife, Christina, to her second battle with breast cancer. He was left heart broken and wondering how he was ever going to pick up the pieces and raise their three young children without her. He knew it wasn't going to be easy, but he kept his chin up and did what needed to be done. With Christina as his inspiration and his family being his driving force, the idea of this company was born.
Christina was a beautiful woman with a heart of gold. Her children were her world, and you would rarely find her without a radiant smile on her face. She made a true impact on everyone that she met. With her strength and beauty in mind, Eric brought his visions to life.
Eric has strived to keep her legacy alive by contributing to Breast Cancer Awareness and other Breast Cancer charities every year since her passing. He started by designing special pink labels for our Timber beard oil each October and donating a large percentage of sales to various breast cancer awareness charities. For the past three years, Mountaineer Brand has orchestrated the family friendly event Beard-a-Palooza, where participants donate a portion of their profits, matched by Mountaineer Brand, to breast cancer awareness. Since the beginning of this event, our company has been overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone participating and supporting this cause.
If you're local, be sure to stop out and join the fun on October 13th from 1-5 pm at 54 GM Access Rd. in Martinsburg. You will find lots of great vendors, food, games, raffles, prizes, children's activities and more!
Thank you for taking the time to learn why this is so very important to our company. Christina will always hold a special place in our hearts and will forever be an inspiration to each and every one of us here at Mountaineer Brand.
